University screening portals often ask for a small JPG passport photo with exact pixels — and reject anything bigger. Set your school’s numbers and get a file that fits, on your phone, without uploading it anywhere.

How to prepare your Post-UTME photo

  1. Check your school’s rule

Each university sets its own limits. Find the photo requirement in your school’s screening instructions — for example, one portal asks for a JPEG of at least 600×600 pixels and no more than 25KB.

  2. Set the numbers

The tool starts at 600×600 under 25KB. Change the size, pixels or format if your school asks for something different.

  3. Upload to the portal

Download the photo and upload it to your school’s portal. DigiCompress never sees it — the resizing happened on your device.

Photo tips screening officers look for

Background colour
Follow your school’s instruction — some ask for white, some for red. If you need a different colour, use the background remover and pick it.
Face fills the frame
Head and top of the shoulders visible, looking straight at the camera, no filters.
Good light
Stand facing a window in daylight. Shadows and grain make small files look worse.
Keep the original
Save your full-size photo; you’ll need different sizes for NYSC, jobs and other forms later.

What size should my Post-UTME passport photo be?

It depends on the university. Many ask for a JPG under 20–50KB with set pixel dimensions. Always use the numbers in your school’s screening instructions — this tool lets you enter them exactly.

Can I change the background to red or white?

Yes. Use the background remover, choose the colour, download, then resize the result here.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It runs in your phone’s browser and works on Android and iPhone.

Is my photo uploaded to your server?

No. Your photo is resized on your device and is never sent to DigiCompress.

Is DigiCompress free?

Yes. You can shrink 3 files a day without an account. Sign in with Google or an email link to use it as much as you like. We don’t sell anything inside the tool, and we never ask for payment details.
