How to get a PDF under 100KB
Drop the PDF
Scans, certificates, statements or reports. The file is read on your device only.
Keep the goal
The goal is set to 100KB. DigiCompress tries gentle settings first and only gets stronger if it must.
Download
You see the final size and whether the goal was met, then the file is wiped from the page.
When 100KB is realistic
A one- or two-page scan — a certificate, a receipt, a result slip — can usually be brought under 100KB because almost all of its size is the scanned image. DigiCompress shrinks those images at the lowest setting that still keeps text readable.
A long document with many pages, embedded fonts or vector drawings may not fit in 100KB however hard it is compressed. If so, you’ll see the smallest size achieved and suggestions such as uploading only the pages the portal needs.
Tips for tiny PDFs
- Scan in greyscale
- Black-and-white text in greyscale at 150 DPI is far smaller than a colour 600 DPI scan.
- One page per file
- Portals that ask for 100KB usually expect one page.
- Photographed documents
- Shoot straight on, in daylight, filling the frame — then compress.
