Frequently asked questions
Will the photo lose quality?
JPG keeps photos looking the same to the eye. The file may be a little bigger than the HEIC; compress it afterwards if you need it smaller.
How close to the original will it look?
We can open iPhone HEIC photos, but we can’t create HEIC files.
Is my HEIC uploaded to convert it?
No. The HEIC is turned into JPG right inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to DigiCompress or anyone else, and both files are wiped from the page when you are done.
Can I turn HEIC into PNG or PDF instead?
Yes. Drop the HEIC photo in the converter and choose PNG or PDF. To see what hidden details a photo carries, use the privacy scrub.
Is DigiCompress free?
Yes. You can shrink 3 files a day without an account. Sign in with Google or an email link to use it as much as you like. We don’t sell anything inside the tool, and we never ask for payment details.
